Primarily, letters (1838-42) written by William H. Gardner to his sister Mary and other family members in West Cambridge, Mass., concerning farming, activities, friends and family members in Chester and Frankfort, Illinois; with one letter written by his brother John A. Gardner to sister Mary. Also, the 1763 will of Henry Gardner of Charlestown, Mass.; a 1799 deed for land in Charlestown from Henry (2nd) and Miles Gardner to Samuel Gardner; and an apparent copy of an 1894 letter of Harriet B. Stowe to a Mr. Munson.
